Is the A2 CofC for me?
What is the A2 CofC
Are you unsure if you require an A2 CofC Course or how it could add value to your drone business?
If you are one of the tens of thousands of people presently flying a drone between 250g and 2kg in the UK then you must stay at least 150m away from congested areas such as residential, industrial, recreational and commercial areas. That’s fine if you like your own company!!
Having an A2 CofC relaxes the rules and allows you to operate your 250g to 2kg drone in a congested area. Giving you access to better flying opportunities be it commercially or just hobby flying.
Hold on, so you are saying “I have a DJI Mini that’s 249g, I can do virtually do what I want!!!!”.
Well that’s fine, you are not alone, I have one too!!!! Just remember to check the NATS restricted drone flying zones (see below)
NATS UK | UAS Restriction Zones (ead-it.com)
But we have an issue, to comply with the new CAA VLOS rules acceptable means of compliance, we must be able to orientate our drone at all times whilst in the air.
And unless you have eagle vision then our tests show the mini can be orientated out to 50m with someone with 20/20 vision. So maybe its time for a bigger drone with decent lighting and therefore time to do the A2 CofC.
CDTs online A2 CofC course is simple to understand and can be completed in less than a day. We give you a free mock exams, a free drone set-up checklist and I am available to help you if required, ensuring your course results in a successful pass.
