Drone Registration in the UK
UK law requires you to have two drone related IDs in place before flying most drones & model aircraft outdoors in the United Kingdom:
Anyone who will fly the drone must have a flyer ID. You must pass a basic online theory test to get a flyer ID.
The person or organisation that owns or is responsible for the drone or model aircraft must register for an operator ID.
In most cases the person that owns the drone is the person that fly’s it so they apply for both operator and flyer IDs.
To get both use the link https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/individual/register-and-take-test-to-fly
A flyer ID shows you’ve passed a basic flying test and know how to fly safely and legally.
The operator ID must be shown on your drone at all times and your flyer ID must be kept somewhere easily accessible in case a police officer asks to see it at a flying site.
